I used to go swimming here after school(Reigate priory) bought a lovely cheese bun from a shop in Holmsdale road then walked through the tunnel back home to blackborough road . It was the very late 50searly 60s lovely days and lovely memories.

I swam many many miles in this pool to get all the badges. Mr Stringle was the teacher. It did not have the wooden cublicles then, there were changing rooms off to each side. You had a box made of hardboard to store your clothes and there was a booth where you handed the box over which was in place of the white wood panel in the centre of this picture.

When I was 9 years old I would cycle from my home in Dorking on a Sunday to Reigate swimming pool, jump about in the pool because there were so many people in the pool you could not easily swim, I would then cycle home to Dorking, each way 7.5 miles. Loved the adventure, now I am 73 year old walking is my adventure.
