My grandmother used to live in the house at the top of the steps, and I visited her many times when I was a student in London in 1978/1979. At that time my grandfather had been dead for many years, and my grandmother was given over to Alzheimers, but she lived on in this house, supported and helped by the kindness of strangers. I've returned to this site several times over the years, but I shall not likely have the opportunity to be back again.
